LAWRENCE OSILAJA BOAMPONG
President, ACI-Ghana
CAL Bank PLC

Lawrence Osilaja Boampong is the President of ACI Ghana, having been re-elected for a second term in December 2024. His leadership journey with ACI Ghana began as General Secretary (2016-2020), and he has since spearheaded transformative initiatives, including organizing the first-ever Financial Markets Conference in the Sub-region and elevating Ghana’s financial markets on the global stage. He also serves on the Ghana Fixed Income Market (GFIM) Governing Committee and is a member of the Strategy Committee of ACI FMA International.

Beyond his role at ACI Ghana, Lawrence is a seasoned financial markets professional with close to 14 years of experience spanning Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Debt Portfolio Management, Pension Fund Management, and Custody Services. He is currently the Head of Financial Markets at CalBank Plc, where he leads the bank’s treasury, trading, and investment strategy across fixed income, FX, and structured products. Prior to this, he was Head of Fixed Income Sales & Distribution at GCB Bank Plc, responsible for executing the bank’s fixed income distribution strategy. He also spent nearly a decade at Fidelity Bank Ghana, where he played a key role in establishing and leading the Fixed Income Sales Desk, working across FX, Money Markets, and Custody, and helping set up the bank’s Custody Business.

Academically, he holds a First-Class Bachelor’s degree from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), a Master’s degree, and an ACI Dealing Certificate. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG).

Lawrence is widely respected for his strategic leadership and contributions to the financial markets industry, shaping market development and fostering collaboration both locally and internationally.

MAAME ADJOA THOMPSON
Vice President, ACI-Ghana
Savvy Securities

Maame Adjoa Thompson is an entrepreneur and business leader with over 12 years experience in the financial markets. She is currently the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Savvy Securities, a broker dealer firm licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Bank of Ghana to trade financial assets including bonds, equities mutual funds and currencies.

Maame Adjoa also sits on the executive board of ACI Financial Markets Association Ghana where she serves in various capacities including Vice President and Chair of the Finance Committee. Her contribution to the association is mainly centered on providing strategic direction and ensuring strategic objectives of the executive board are achieved by prudently administering the financial resources of the association.

Prior to her entrepreneurial journey, she worked with GT Bank Ghana in various treasury roles, including team lead for the fixed income desk, where she is notably credited with building with building a strong client portfolio with high profile fund and asset management companies, generating revenue in excess of USD30 Million in its first year of operation. She is ACI certified and holds a first class honours in Mathematics and Business Management from the University of Cape Coast and executive education from China Europe International Business School. She is also pursuing a CFA Certification.

She is passionate about women empowerment and believes in breaking the proverbial glass ceiling and giving women an opportunity to lead and excel. She enjoys swimming, reading, novels and watching movies.

STEPHEN BIRITWUM
General Secretary, ACI-Ghana
Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited

Stephen Biritwum leads the Fixed Income Distribution Business of Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited. He has over a decade of experience in financial markets focusing on portfolio management, foreign exchange, fixed income, investment research, asset management, quantitative analysis, and business development. His 15-year banking career started from Retail Banking with relationship management.

Stephen serves on the ACI Ghana executive board as General Secretary. He is responsible for and advises with the education committee on all decisions concerning formal education within ACI Ghana.

Stephen is result driven, analytical, innovative and personable. He is an alumnus of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology. He is passionate about knowledge acquisition, financial independence & wealth creation.

He is a Past President of Fidelity Toastmasters Club and an ardent sports fan. In his pastime, Stephen reads, learns or watches movies.

STEVE HANSFORD QUANSAH
Treasurer, ACI-Ghana
GCB Bank PLC

Steve Hansford Quansah is an all-round professional with over ten (10) years of experience in the financial market space. He is ACI-certified and sits on the Executive board as the Treasurer. He also served as the ACI Organizing Secretary in the previous administration.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with statistics from the University of Cape Coast and an MSc in development finance from the University of Ghana Business School. He is currently the Balance Sheet and ALCO Support Manager of GCB Bank Limited.

Prior to his current role, Steve worked with Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited as the local currency liquidity manager and at CAL Bank Plc in various capacities in the Treasury function as a money market dealer, fixed income officer, and business assurance analyst.

Steve possesses strong interpersonal skills, a good team player, analytical, and result driven.

ERNESTINA MENSAH
Organizing Secretary, ACI-Ghana
Bank of Africa, Ghana

Ernestina Mensah is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in market risk management, financial analysis, and economic policy. She currently serves as the Organizing Secretary of ACI Ghana, where she plays a pivotal role in coordinating events, facilitating industry engagements, and ensuring seamless execution of the association’s initiatives.

With a decade of experience in the banking sector, Ernestina is the Head of the Market Risk Unit at Bank of Africa Ghana, where she manages risks related to interest rates, exchange rates, and inflation, ensuring the bank’s financial stability. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), ACI Financial Markets Association (Paris), and a qualified affiliate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK).

Passionate about leadership, professional development, and financial markets, she brings strategic insight and organizational expertise to ACI Ghana. In her role, she is committed to enhancing the association’s impact through well-structured programs, industry networking, and knowledge-sharing events that empower financial market professionals.

Beyond her corporate career, Ernestina is a social activist and philanthropist. She is the Founder of the Glimmer of Hope Foundation, which focuses on using education to break the cycle of poverty. Her dedication to mentorship and economic empowerment has earned her recognition, including the Global Women in Leadership Award (2022).

Ernestina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education; B.Ed. Social Sciences, Accounting, and Management from the University of Cape Coast, a Master’s degree in Industrial Finance and Investment from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a Master’s degree in Economic Policy Management from the University of Ghana. She is passionate about financial inclusion, youth empowerment, and sustainable economic development.

In her capacity as Organizing Secretary, Ernestina is committed to strengthening ACI Ghana’s professional community, fostering industry collaboration, and driving impactful initiatives for the advancement of financial markets in Ghana and beyond.

BLESSED KOJO AMPIAH
Administrative Assistant
Blessed Kojo Ampiah serves as the Administrative Assistant for ACI Ghana, bringing valuable experience from his national service tenure at GCB Bank plc.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from All Nations University and is committed to pursuing professional membership with ACI in the future. Outside of his professional pursuits, Blessed enjoys photography, football, and music.
